Yeah, I think Peter knew that he didn't want to keep making music like what Genesis, and was looking towards the future with those first three solo records. More like happily heading in a direction he couldn't possibly have gone with Genesis. I don't see it as PG jumping on a bandwagon. I saw the show at the Ottawa Civic Centre. They walked onto the stage from the aisles and that's why people didn't recognize them for a minute or two. Have had this boot on DVD for a number of years probably taken from the VHS.I meant construction gear (orangey things). "The Lamb" brought the house down at the encore. He sprang up right next to him! Iconic concert for me, great memories. I will never forget, as we were sitting the in the balcony, my friend had moved down a few rows to take some pictures and he told me Peter disappeared from the stage and as he was searching around to find him, he turned the camera to the side and was looking in his ear. The show also started with Gabriel coming out with a large Teddy Bear and sang a little ditty called "Me and My Teddy Bear".? I don't remember the "Red Blazers" mentioned above (but its been awhile) At one point in the show they used some black lights which lit up the construction gear, as I recall, and with the stage lights low Peter would leave the stage and end up in the crowd somewhere. They were construction bibs, and Peter also wore orange work gloves. Saw this same show at the Lyric Theater in Baltimore in Oct 78.
